John Myerly
John Myerly

Varsity DBs/ Special Teams Coordinator

I’m Coach Myerly and I am entering my 15 seasons here at Centennial High School. I am the Varsity DB Coach as well as the Special Teams Coordinator. I have been coaching football for over 25 years and I am also the President of the Corona Chargers JAAF youth football program here in Corona. I am a Corona native and a graduate of Corona High School. I have raised my family here in Corona with two out of my three children attending Centennial High School. My wife also works here at Centennial High and has been a high school teacher for over 30 years, where she was also the Cheer coach for most of that time. We were able to raise our kids on the football field spending Friday nights together at games. My son played for Centennial and my youngest daughter attended and cheered for Centennial before graduating from the University of Oregon. She now is receiving her Master’s in Education from USC and student teaching here at Centennial. I have been fortunate enough in my life to spend the time coaching do mainly in part to owning and running a business here in Corona for over 25 years. It has afforded me the time, because of the great staff I have, to be able to enjoy my passion for coaching. My emphasis on coaching is not only the aspects of football and skills needed to get better, but on education. As stated before, my kids all were college level athletes coming out of high school and have succeeded in the adult world because of it. I believe that playing football is a privilege and every athlete has someone in their support systems that must sacrifice to get them on the field. My players owe it to those people to conduct themselves and perform on the field and in the classroom to show that they respect and understand the sacrifices made for them by their family. I might have graduated from Corona High but if you know me, I bleed Black and Red. GO HUSKIES!
