Coach Kurth begins his second season as Mona Shores Boys Basketball coaching career after 11 seasons as the Girls Varsity Coach and two years as an assistant coach at Ferris State University Women's Basketball. As an Economics and American History teacher at Mona Shores since 1998, he prioritizes relationships with his students and players. His greatest goal is that through basketball, student athletes will have the tools to win in life. Go Shores!

Head coach of over 200 varsity and college victories. Proud father of 4 amazing children, Ella 16, Brady 14, Tyler 7 and Brooklynn 6. Spent 15 years in elementary and secondary education as a science and Biology teacher. Currently employed at Trophy House and Jones Sporting Goods in Muskegon. Motivated by helping athletes learn life lessons to carry with them into the future.

I love coaching and teaching the game of basketball and mentoring young people to be the best they possibly can and reaching their full potential on and off the court. I’ve taught PE and health for sixteen years and coached basketball at various levels. I enjoy being active in my local church, spending time with family and friends, traveling, being active, golfing and bowling.
